A new HDTV study from the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA), predicts that the total number of HDTVs sold in the United States during 2007 will surpass 50 million. This should bring the total number of households with an HDTV to 36% by the end of the year. In 2008, Kenwood will be merging with Victor Co. of Japan (JVC), under a holding company. Kenwood has informed JVC parent, Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., that it would agree to a proposal for a merger with struggling JVC. A final agreement is expected by the end of next month, according to the Nikkei report. Combined group sales at the two companies exceed 7 billion dollars last year. |
