Toshiba: Forecasts a $665 million operating loss for their discontinued HD DVD business. WinDVD 9 Plus: All2HD software will become part of the software to allow near-HD quality playback on a PC. Satellite TV: Satellite TV operators will be allowed to downconvert local HD signals to save on bandwidth until they increase their capacity to add local HD channels on a phased-in basis. The FCC is giving them until 2013 for full HD compliance. Harry Potter: There are 7 Potter novels, but there will be 8 movies, as the final book, "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" will be split into 2 films to be shot concurrently.
