Philips: Beginning Jan. 1st, Philips will license its Philips and Magnavox brands to Funai for Blu-ray Disc players, DVD players, DVD recorders and home cinema products in the U.S. in exchange for royalty payments. Circuit City: Was formally de-listed on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) on Dec. 15th. Nokia: Announced it is developing the Nokia Home Control Center, for home automation, security and energy management. It will utilize Z-Wave technology from Zensys. Netflix: Deploys Silverlight for Instant Watching on Intel-based Apple computers. Meridian: Acquires A/V media-server supplier Sooloos. TiVo: You can now program your home TiVo from any web capable device including cell phones. Tweeter: Closed all its remaining 94 stores on Tuesday, December 2nd.
