Jay Rockefeller announced a bipartisan compromise version of the bill to move the date from Feb. 17th to June 12th, 2009. Already approved by the Senate, it was voted down by the House of Representatives on January 28th. Circuit City: Is officially closing its remaining 576 stores and the liquidation sale ends March 31st. JVC: To offer an LCD TV with built-in Blu-ray Disc player. LG Display: Unveils "TruMotion" 480Hz LCD TV panel. Combining their 'scanning backlight' technology with their 240Hz technology, the display can refresh 480 times per second with a response time of 4ms eliminating motion blur. Panasonic: New PT-AE3000U video projector features 2.35:1 Lens Memory, Full HD, 3 x HDMI inputs, 1,600 Lumens, D7 panels and 60,000:1 Contrast ratio. Pioneer: Demos 400GB super multi-layer Blu-ray disc. The read-only disc utilizes 16 layers. Samsung: Unveils model BD-P3600 and BD-P4600 Blu-ray disc players with Wi-Fi. The BD-P4600 is also the first wall-mountable Blu-ray player (1.5-inch thick). Vizio: Will start selling its own Blu-ray Disc players in April. (about $200). A: CinemaScope is a wide screen format with an aspect ratio typically around 2.35:1. but can be as high as 2.66:1 Movies are filmed in "scope" format with an anamorphic lens, such as the popular Panavision. Home video projectors with an anamorphic lens can then stretch the image 33% horizontally to get rid of the black bars you normally see on widescreen movies. A mechanical lens sled is typically used to move the anamorphic lens in place. Some late model projectors have Lens Memory to instantly recall the zoom and focus settings for both 16:9 & 2.35:1 formats. A super wide format screen is also required.
