Adobe: Secures a deal to have Flash software put inside TV and set-top box chips, expected early 2010. AMC Theatres: RealD 3D screens are scheduled for installation in 1,500 AMC Theatres this year. Blockbuster: Joins forces with TiVo to deliver Blockbuster onDemand content to TiVo DVRs. TiVo DVRs will also be available for sale at Blockbuster. Christie: The commercial movie-theater projector manufacturer teams with Wolf Cinema to manufacture high-end home theater video projectors. Circuit City: Agrees to sell its brand name, trademarks and internet assets (domain names) to Systemax for $6.5 million. DirecTV: Offers iPhone, iTouch mobile app to schedule their DVR recordings. Expands its HD Video-On-Demand movie offerings to more than 30 titles. GE Global Research: Demos a micro-holographic storage material that can support 500 GB of storage in a DVD-size disc. Nanoscale Storage: A newly developed technique could allow the contents of 250 DVDs to fit onto a quarter according to scientists at UC Berkeley and UMass Amherst. NCR: Acquires majority stake in movie-rental kiosk operator, TNR Holdings. Plans to deploy thousands of Blockbuster Express branded kiosks. Pioneer: Downsizing and selling a stake in Pioneer Corp to Honda Motor Co. Toshiba: Will buy-out Panasonic's entire stake in their joint LCD/OLED panel technology venture. |

Q: What Color LED light should I choose for my Edge-Lit Sign? A: It's really a personal decision, but here are a few pointers: In a dark room, the White LED is generally the brightest. In a bright room, the colored LEDs appear brighter. White and green are considered the brightest overall and blue and red slightly less bright. If you plan to leave the sign on during a movie, then one of the less bright colors may be best. If your room is painted in earth-tone colors, then blue and green work well. Most people seem to like the blue the best overall, and give it the highest "WOW" factor. |
